1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using AstraVault ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
AstraVault is a document management application that:
- Encrypts your documents using AES-256-GCM before uploading them
- Stores encrypted documents in your own Google Drive account
- Provides OCR text extraction for searchability
- Provides camera-based document scanning with quality analysis
AstraVault does not operate any servers. All your data is stored in your Google Drive account and encrypted on your device.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use AstraVault. Users under 18 may use the app only with verifiable parental consent, as required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
4. Your Account
- You must sign in with a valid Google account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- You must not share your device biometric access with unauthorized persons
5. Your Data
You own all data you store in AstraVault. We do not claim any ownership or license over your documents, photos, or personal information.
- Your documents are encrypted with keys only you control
- We cannot access, read, or decrypt your documents
- Deleting the app does not delete your data (it remains in your Google Drive)
- You can delete all data via the in-app account deletion feature
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use AstraVault to:
- Store illegal content or content that violates any applicable law
- Store content that infringes intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent security measures, root detection, or integrity checks
- Use the App for any purpose prohibited by Indian law
7. Purchases & Billing
- AstraVault Pro is a one-time purchase of ₹299 (inclusive of GST)
- Payment is processed through Google Play Billing
- There are no recurring subscriptions or hidden fees
- Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy
- The Free tier (10 documents) is available at no cost, indefinitely
8. Encryption & Security
AstraVault employs AES-256-GCM encryption for all stored documents. By using the App, you acknowledge:
- Encryption keys are generated and stored on your device's hardware security module
- If you lose access to your device and Google account simultaneously, encrypted data may become permanently inaccessible
- AstraVault cannot recover your encryption keys under any circumstances
- We are not liable for data loss resulting from lost devices, forgotten credentials, or Google account compromise
9. Third-Party Services
AstraVault relies on the following third-party services:
- Google Drive API — For document storage in your Drive
- Google Play Billing — For processing purchases
- Firebase Authentication — For secure sign-in
- Firebase Crashlytics — For bug reporting (opt-in only)
- Google ML Kit — For on-device OCR text extraction
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
10. Intellectual Property
The AstraVault app, its design, code, logo, and branding are the intellectual property of AstraSoft. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without explicit written permission.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
AstraVault is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, AstraSoft shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to data loss, arising from your use of the App.
13. DPDP Act Compliance
AstraVault is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Your data rights under Sections 11–14 are available at all times through the App and via our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
